So I Turned 23

Sunday, October 22nd, 2006

So yesterday I turned 23, an event I share with a friend of mine, Habz. It was a rather understated affair for me, no party, just a trip to London with Cat to see the Shaolin Monks live and let me tell you it’s not a show for the faint of heart. From being lifted up by a bowl attached to your stomach to carrying two buckets of water at arms length over stairs made of blades. It was thrilling and I loved it! (Thanks Glyn!)

Today is just going to spent relaxing and chilling out, lots of sport to watch. Right now I’m watching United Vs Liverpool and currently we’re 1-0 which is good! Later I’ll be watching the Steelers play Atlanta and hopefully we can win again this week as convincingly as we did last week. Then I’ll probably watch the episode of Robin Hood I missed yesterday and then Match of the Day. Finally there is also the possibility of watching the Grand Prix either live (whilst watching the Steelers) or the highlights after MoTD. Either way it’s going to be a day mostly filled with sport.

In closing I just want to thank those who sent cards/presents for my birthday yesterday, I don’t want to embarrass but you know you are and thank you muchly!

Which Pulp Fiction Character Are You..!?

What Pulp Fiction Character Are You?
Tired of being underappreciated and manipulated by powerful “others,” you fight back. Though possesssing a cold, violent outside, you have a soft, scentimental inside. You love your partner, you cherish family heirlooms, and you want nothing more than to be geniunely happy — but you don’t mind having to kill a couple of nimrods who happen to clutter your path.Take the What Pulp Fiction Character Are You? quiz.

So anyone care to agree or disagree? D’ya think this is me? Anyway, just to say I’m still alive and life is good at the moment. Will probably post a more meaningful entry at a later point tonight or tomorrow.

Suggest-A-Topic #1

Saturday, January 28th, 2006

So, not long after putting up Suggest-A-Topic, I get my first e-mail from CATCAT and I was asked:

I think you should talk about…

movies
music
sports (to play)
sports (to watch..yep, you have to choose your favourite!)
funny websites
photographs
pictures

Well, lets get cracking and answer this. Since this is really suggest other topics I should cover I’m going to slightly change this and put down my favourite things in each catagory.

Favourite Movie: Shawshank Redemption without a doubt though it’s closely followed by Lord of the Rings (I’m including all three films as they really are just one long movie split up). I’m a big movie fan and so its hard to pick just one but Shawshank is one I could watch again and again.

Favourite Music: I really have a general taste in music and I have many favourite artists. One such artist is Rage Against the Machine (who are sadly no-more) though these days I don’t listen to them much as Cati doesn’t like their music much. One which we both listen too and someone I really like is Jools Holland. I’ve seen him live three times and he’s amazing as is his Orchestra highly recommended if you have the chance.

Favourite Sport (to play): Hmm, now this *is* tough. Upon consideration I’d have to say basketball. It’s fast, furious and really needs amazing team work if you’re to be successful. I was lucky enough to be in two teams who were highly successful. My school team were area champions twice in succession and my college were also area champions. I feel proud to be able to say I was in both those teams and to have played with the players that I did.

Favourite Sport (to watch): Football (soccer for any US readers) has to be my favourite sport to watch mainly because no matter what level you watch it at you can always see a cracking match. It is also the only sport I fully understand and appreciate the most.

Funny Websites: If you watch my del.ici.ous links in the mid-section you’ll see my favourite bookmarks which will include any funny links I find.

Favourite Photograph: I think I’ll go for my favourite photograph taken which would have to be Parisian City of Lights which I took whilst visiting Cati in Paris. It was amazing to capture it and even more amazing to be there and see it for myself.

As for pictures I really don’t know and so, unfortunately can’t answer that. But if I ever do find one I like I will certainly let you know :) So, I hope you peeps enjoyed this and that it encourages some more people to Suggest-A-Topic!

Superbash IIIHow amazing is this..

Dear nfluk.com member,

Congratulations! You have been selected as one of the lucky registered nfluk.com members who will join us for Super Bash III at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Sunday February 5 for the biggest Super Bowl party in the history of the UK.

In addition to the whole of Super Bowl XL on a gigantic screen, you can look forward to an incredible night of live entertainment featuring chart toppers Liberty X, the Cuban Brothers with their live band, and the New Orleans Saintsations cheerleaders - all hosted by Vernon Kay.

So rather than watching at home and stressing about getting my TV in and other stuff up and running in time to watch it I will now be watching it at this coole SuperBash thing. I’m really looking forward to it, got the trains booked and a place to crash for a few hourse, and now all I gotta do is wait. I’m just can’t wait for the Superbowl as I think it’s going to be fantastic.

Chinese ElvisThe other thing that happened today was that when I went in to town I heard someone singing Elvis songs. Upon futher investigation I found that the person singing was, in fact, a Elvis impersonator. Added to this was the fact that this guy was Chinese Elvis the only one in the UK registered with the UK actors guild apparantly! He was really cool, very friendly (as you can see by the photo in which I look quite bad) and well, very good at his impersonation. The point of all this is that its Chinese New Year and Sharwoods were doing something called, I think, “Wok in the City” or something like that. What they were offering we free noodles, which I wasn’t interested in and some light entertainment (Chinese Elvis) to pass the time. All quite cool if you ask me. So there you go, quite an eventful day!

Funny SignThought it was quite funny :) It also gave me the chance to play around with the camera on the phone and I found it does the coolest thing for panoramic shots; it displays the edge of the last shot so you can line it up for the next one. How cool is that! I haven’t actually saved a shot I took with it as it wasn’t of anything interesting but there will be one soon :) If you want to see the full size version of the shot I took click here and enjoy.
