Now where did I put that...

So I got a wee bit nostalgic and noticed that later this month, about the 14th I think this blog will be 4 years old! Now it hasn’t necessarily been the most active of blogs over this time period but it’s interesting to note what’s happened since then.

First of all Cati and I got married 8 months later and squeezed in a visit to Australia. Man Utd won the Champions League for the 3rd time in 2007 and of course America voted in their first African-American President. I know there are tons more stuff as well but I could pretty much go on for longer than you’re going to be bothered to read listing all the things that have happened in the past 4 years. Less to say a lot has happened, some good, some bad but overall I’m still here and still, on occasion, blogging. What was also interesting to see was how my writing style has changed. Right at the start the posts were short, to the point and quite general. Moving through I’ve slowly started posting on topical subjects and quite often waffling for far longer than I should be in posts as well. I’m not sure whether the quality of the posts have improved, that’s your call, but I’d like to think they have, especially recently.

The other thing that has changed a lot over that time has been WordPress and I have to say that the current iteration is a joy to work with. From the automatic updating of WordPress itself, to the ease at which I can install themes, plugins and update them. Gone are the annoying days of backing up the whole site, deactivation of plugins, upgrading, reactivating only to find I’ve deleted a folder I shouldn’t and have lost all the images which is why a lot of older posts are pictureless. What I’m trying to point out is blogging now is a lot easier than it was and I’m grateful to WordPress for providing the platform on which to do it.

So please, go and browse the archives of this blog, let me know what you think of how things have changed and what I can work on for the future; it would be interesting to hear anyones thoughts.

Now it has to be said that the technique (wrapping the 360 in towels) is a might dangerous but it is interesting to see that it does actually work. More ( here )

Today I won my first Sit & Go Poker Tournament. It was a 0.50 buy-in so only 1st/2nd were paid and the winnings were only 1.80 but winning is winning and considering I’m fairly new to this poker lark I’m quite chuffed with myself.

When I watched it was whisked back to my childhood and couldn’t really get why it would be banned.
